Manel Navarro to represent Spain with ‘Do It For Your Lover’

Manel Navarro will represent Spain at this year’s contest with the song “Do It For Your Lover”, after winning tonight’s national selection Objetivo Eurovisiรณn – but not without some controversy.
In a result decided using a combination of public phone voting and an expert panel, two of the three jury members awarded twelve points to Manel

while the third awarded his twelve to Mirela. As the televoting results became clear, Manel only received 24 points from the public with the maximum of 36 going to Mirela. Things suddenly turned interesting as both Manel & Mirela were tied at the top on 58. Many fans had expected the public vote to outweigh the juries choice, a rule commonly used in many national selections – However, this was not the case tonight. Audience members began booing as it became clear that the decision would now lie with the ‘expert’ panel, with their earlier individual results clearly indicating a win for Manel.
And that’s exactly what happened – Manel was chosen by two of the three panelists and as a result, will represent Spain in Kyiv with his mid-tempo track “Do It For Your Lover”
