We are pleased to reveal that Linda Martin is returning to the London Eurovision Party for the 10th Anniversary edition of the show. The Irish star will take to the stage at Café de Paris on April 2nd in London’s Leicester Square.
One of Eurovision’s most successful stars of all-time
Linda represented Ireland twice at the Eurovision Song Contest. Her first appearance was in 1984 where she finished second with Terminal 3. She returned to Europe’s biggest stage in 1992, winning the contest with Why Me?. Both of Linda’s entries were composed by the King of Eurovision himself, Johnny Logan. Furthermore, her victory in 1992 began the historic run of three consecutive victories for Ireland.
Linda has continued to have love for Eurovision. For example, she has frequently contributed to RTÉ’s Irish selections. Recently, she mentored Jedward who went on to win their selection in 2012 with Waterline. Furthermore, in 2014 she was on the expert panel for the national final in which Heartbeat went on to take victory, performed by Can-Linn and Kasey Smith. She has also regularly performed in various Eurovision-related shows. In 2005, she was a guest performer at Eurovision’s special 50th anniversary show Congratulations! in Copenhagen.
We look forward to welcoming Linda as one of our special guests at the 10th anniversary of the London Eurovision Party on April 2nd!
