Listen now: Belgium release teaser for Blanche’s entry ‘City Lights’

In the last few minutes, RTBF have uploaded an official teaser of Belgium’s 2017 Eurovision entry onto their website. For the first time, we are told that their entry will be titled City Lights. The song will be performed by Blanche who was internally selected back in November. In addition, the full entry will be presented at 11.30am CET on March 8th via the official Eurovision YouTube channel.

While the teaser is currently geo-blocked on RTBF’s official site, you can listen to the 45 second teaser via the YouTube video below. Immediately, you can hear Blanche’s unique vocal tone over a modern, electronic beat. Perhaps you can compare her sound to that of Lorde or Lana Del Rey. Nevertheless, the sound is so unique that it really can only be described as her very own sound. See what you think!

Blanche will be performing in the first half of the first semi-final on May 9th in Kyiv. She will be hoping to make it three qualifications in a row for Belgium after Loïc Nottet and Laura Tesoro both hit the top 10 in Vienna and Stockholm respectively!
What do you think of the teaser for City Lights? Furthermore, do you think this modern and alternative sound can lift Belgium into the Eurovision top ten for the third consecutive year? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below and via our social media pages @escXtra!

My first memory of watching the Eurovision Song Contest was back in 2001 and, over the years, my passion and enthusiasm for the contest has very much turned into an obsession. I adore music and I love geography, so this contest is a natural fit for me. If la la loving Eurovision was a crime, I'd certainly be a criminal!
