Kyiv 2017

Robin Bengtsson goes on to Kyiv for Sweden

After six weeks of Melodifestivalen 2017 taking place around Sweden, Robin Bengtsson has emerged victorious with the song “I Can’t Go On” after he won the International Jury vote comfortably and came a solid third in the public televote.
Having chosen to alter his lyric from “so fucking beautiful” to “so fricking beautiful” in order to charm the International Juries and make his song more accessible to worldwide radio, Robin Bengtsson proved that decision to be wise by winning 96 points – giving him a 20 point lead over Nano heading into the televote.
With the app vote making the spread of public televote extremely narrow – only 27 points covered first to last place – this 20 point lead became unassailable once Robin received the third highest total of votes, 10.6% of the vote and 50 points. Nano won the televote with 11,9% and 57 points whilst Wiktoria came second with 10,9% and 51 points.
