Tijana Bogićević has just released the song which will represent Serbia in this year’s contest! “In Too Deep” is written by Joacim Persson, Borislav Milanov, Johan Alkenas and Ann-Mari Linder. Some of these people also wrote the FYR Macedonian entry to this year’s contest, “Dance Alone“, which was publicly released yesterday to positive reviews.
A 40-second snippet of the song was previously released, which hinted at a very modern and uptempo song. The snippet generated some excitement for the release of the Serbian entry, reaching 6th in the betting odds! Now, it has finally been released in its entirety. Listen to the song below:
Tijana’s History
Tijana rose to fame in Serbia after the release of her third single “Čudo“, meaning “miracle”. The next year, she released a duet with Aleksa Jelić called “Još jednom“, meaning “one more time”. In Too Deep will be her sixth single, and her first single to be in English. She currently lives in the USA.
This is not Tijana’s first experience with Eurovision either; she was a backing vocalist for Nina in 2011 and the song “Čaroban”! She also competed in Beovizija 2009 with the song “Pazi Šta Radiš”, although she failed to make it past the semi finals.
Last year, Sanja Vučić ZAA represented Serbia with the song Goodbye (Shelter). It came 18th in the final with 115 points.
Tijana will perform In Too Deep in the first half of the second semifinal of the Eurovision Song Contest 2017 in Kyiv, Ukraine. We at escXtra wish her the best of luck!
What do you think of the Serbian entry? Is it good enough to make it to the final? Do you prefer it to last year’s entry? Will it do better than Goodbye (Shelter)? Leave a comment below to let us know!
