Bulgaria: Kristian Kostov teases official music video ahead of its release on Friday

A couple of weeks ago, BNT revealed that Kristian Kostov would represent Bulgaria at the 2017 Eurovision Song Contest. He will sing the modern ethno-ballad Beautiful Mess in Kyiv. The song is written and produced by Borislav Milanov, Sebastian Arman and Joacim Bo Persson. Following the release of the song, Bulgaria gained momentum in the betting odds. At the time of writing, Bulgaria are second favourites to win the contest. Only Italy are more fancied. Alongside the release of the song, BNT published an official lyric video. Now, in co-operation with Virginia Records, Bulgaria are gearing up for the official music video release.

Music video release on Friday

Earlier today, Virginia Records published the official teaser of Kristian’s upcoming music video. Speaking about his entry when it was first revealed, Kristian said the following:

““Beautiful Mess” is authentic, interesting and transmits the sentiment and the main idea of the song. I like the song, because it’s what I am. Last November, I started working with Bobby [the composer Borislav Milanov] with the idea to submit a song for Eurovision either for this year or next. We recorded 4 songs, but “Beautiful Mess” was the one I felt genuinely inspired by. As a performer, now I’m trying to find myself and actually this is my first song that has a deeper meaning. And I like it a lot. My vision for the future is actually to do projects that make sense, so that’s a step in the right direction for me. Besides this, my fans will see me in a different light than in my past projects, so I am really curious to find out what their reaction will be.”

Watch the official teaser below. Furthermore, the full music video will be released at 7pm CET on Friday 31st March.

Bulgaria will perform in the second half of the second semi-final of the 2017 Eurovision Song Contest on May 11th. Kristian will hope to qualify for the final, taking place two days later.

My first memory of watching the Eurovision Song Contest was back in 2001 and, over the years, my passion and enthusiasm for the contest has very much turned into an obsession. I adore music and I love geography, so this contest is a natural fit for me. If la la loving Eurovision was a crime, I'd certainly be a criminal!
