A new sound for Laura!

Her Eurovision entry What’s The Pressure? showcased a retro sound with influences from disco and funk. On the other hand, Laura’s new single is totally on-trend with influences of tropical house wrapped up in a fantastic pop song. In addition, the song includes the use of distorted vocal samples to bring the track firmly into 2017! Give the song a listen below.

Last year, Laura became one of the first acts to be selected to take part in the 2016 Eurovision Song Contest. After finishing 3rd in the second semi-final, What’s The Pressure? went on to secure Belgium a second consecutive top ten finish! Following her Eurovision success, Laura went on to be nominated for the Best Belgian Act in the MTV Europe Music Awards.

Reuniting with Justin Timberlake…

In addition, she recorded the Flemish dubbed versions of characters in hit movies Trolls and Moana. In fact, she went on to interview Anna Kendrick and 2016 Eurovision interval act Justin Timberlake about Trolls. Once Justin awkwardly asked Laura “does she sing?”, Laura reminded him all about Eurovision and everything clicked into place! Check out the interview below, the discussion on Eurovision takes place around a minute in.

One of Eurovision 2016’s biggest success stories

Not only that, but Belgium’s hottest new property hosted last year’s season of Belgium’s Got Talent. Furthermore, she became a coach on her country’s version of The Voice Kids following in the footsteps of 2010 Eurovision winner Lena who did the same in the years after her victory. Now perhaps she will add yet another success to her career with another hit single after What’s The Pressure hit #2 in the Flemish chart last year as well as hitting charts in Austria, France and Sweden amongst others.

Ryan Cobb

My first memory of watching the Eurovision Song Contest was back in 2001 and, over the years, my passion and enthusiasm for the contest has very much turned into an obsession. I adore music and I love geography, so this contest is a natural fit for me. If la la loving Eurovision was a crime, I'd certainly be a criminal!
