escXtra are live from Kyiv for day one of rehearsals ahead of the 2017 Eurovision Song Contest! The countries rehearsing today, in chronological order, are Sweden, Georgia, Australia, Albania, Belgium, Montenegro, Finland, Azerbaijan and Portugal. The final artist to rehearse today is Luísa Sobral from Portugal. She is rehearsing on behalf of her brother Salvador who will arrive ahead of the first dress rehearsal next Monday. We have just watched her first run through of Amar Pelos Dois live on screen and here is our initial reaction.
Summary in a sentence
Using the B stage is wonderful idea (so the stage in the middle of the audience) they are keeping things simple having her (him) stand still and just deliver a fantastic performance. Also – TREE ALLERT – we have our first trees if the contest so you can all rest easy!
It is hard to say what the vocals are like because right now we have Luisa. She does a fantastic job but we won’t know till he is in the house
