The latest artist to rehearse is Sunstroke Project from Moldova. We have just watched their first run through of Hey Mamma live on screen and here is our initial reaction.
Summary in a sentence
The choreography is simple yet effective and is enhanced with clever use of the LED backdrop – it’s all very fun!
Staging
The LED backdrop is various black and white rectangles. There’s clever use of the backdrop during the choruses and saxophone breaks where the band appear on the backdrop to create a multiplier effect. The choreography remains the same as in the national final, simple but effective.
Vocals
This isn’t a vocally demanding song but it sounded perfectly competent from all six performers on stage.
Costumes
The three guys of Sunstroke Project are all in suits today, one in silver, one in black and one in blue. The brides begin the song in a white and black mini-dresses which change (!) into wedding dresses for the finale!
