ESCXTRA: Live from Kyiv

Day 5: Robin Bengtsson completes second rehearsal for Sweden – PREDICTION & REVIEW

ESCXTRA are live from Kyiv for day five of rehearsals ahead of the 2017 Eurovision Song Contest! For the first time, we can bring you live audio from the press centre television screens that show each rehearsal. The countries rehearsing today, in chronological order, are Sweden, Georgia, Australia, Albania, Belgium, Montenegro, Finland, Azerbaijan, Portugal, Greece, Poland, Moldova, Iceland, Czech Republic and Cyprus. Furthermore, read our handy guide for a more detailed look at this contest’s rehearsal schedule.

In addition, for our immediate reactions to every single rehearsal, you can follow our live stream from the press centre at the International Exhibition Center by visiting our YouTube channel. Also, you will also be able to listen live to each rehearsal as it happens and give us your opinions in our live chat.

The first artist to take to the stage for their second rehearsal is Robin Bengtsson from Sweden. We have just watched his first run through of I Can’t Go On live from Kyiv and here is our reaction.

Staging overview

As always Robin is with his 4 dancers on stage on the treadmills. He begins the performance backstage in a further similarity to Melodifestivalen. The camerawork now seem super tight and this is ready for the live broadcast. Vocals are strong and Robin even puts in a couple of ad-libs I haven’t heard before.

Qualification prospects

The only thing going against this qualifying is its running order draw but I’d give this a 95% chance of qualification.

Press centre reaction

Some applause for Robin here in the press centre, impressive considering people have been watching pretty much the same performance for 3 months now!

Watch the rehearsal!

Stay tuned for our reaction to Tamara Gachechiladze as she rehearses Keep The Faith next for Georgia. Meanwhile, remember to tune in to our live stream from the press centre. There you can see our instant reactions to each rehearsal and listen to live audio to judge for yourself!

Ryan Cobb

My first memory of watching the Eurovision Song Contest was back in 2001 and, over the years, my passion and enthusiasm for the contest has very much turned into an obsession. I adore music and I love geography, so this contest is a natural fit for me. If la la loving Eurovision was a crime, I'd certainly be a criminal!
