ESCXTRA: Live from Kyiv

Day 5: Salvador Sobral’s sister Luísa completes second rehearsal for Portugal – PREDICTION & REVIEW

ESCXTRA are live from Kyiv for day five of rehearsals ahead of the 2017 Eurovision Song Contest! For the first time, we can bring you live audio from the press centre television screens that show each rehearsal. The countries rehearsing today, in chronological order, are Sweden, Georgia, Australia, Albania, Belgium, Montenegro, Finland, Azerbaijan, Portugal, Greece, Poland, Moldova, Iceland, Czech Republic and Cyprus. Furthermore, read our handy guide for a more detailed look at this contest’s rehearsal schedule.

In addition, for our immediate reactions to every single rehearsal, you can follow our live stream from the press centre at the International Exhibition Center by visiting our YouTube channel. Also, you will also be able to listen live to each rehearsal as it happens and give us your opinions in our live chat.

The next artist to take to the stage for their second rehearsal is Salvador Sobral’s sister Luísa from Portugal. We have just watched her first run through of Amar pelos dois live from Kyiv and here is our reaction.

Staging overview

Luísa c is performing on the B stage, which will work very effectively in creating an intimate atmosphere with the audience. There is a gorgeous forest LED backdrop and she performed this beautifully in her own unique style. Luísa is wearing a black suit with a blue and white blouse underneath.
Qualification prospects
This is one of the most unpredictable entries of the year as it is so different to the rest of the field, but I’d give this a 70% chance of qualifying. Assuming it does, that will suggest it is clicking with the audience and will probably zoom into the final top 10.

Press centre reaction

There wasn’t any reaction from the press here, although things are getting so busy so it is hard for everyone to watch everything!

Watch the rehearsal!

Stay tuned for our reaction to Demy as she rehearses This Is Love next for Greece. Meanwhile, remember to tune in to our live stream from the press centre. There you can see our instant reactions to each rehearsal and listen to live audio to judge for yourself!

Ryan Cobb

My first memory of watching the Eurovision Song Contest was back in 2001 and, over the years, my passion and enthusiasm for the contest has very much turned into an obsession. I adore music and I love geography, so this contest is a natural fit for me. If la la loving Eurovision was a crime, I'd certainly be a criminal!
