Elena Tsagrinou honours “Mykonos & Santorini” on new song

Elena Tsagrinou is back with a new song! The Cypriot entrant for the Eurovision Song Contest is honouring the Greek islands of Mykonos and Santorini in the aptly titled “Mykonos kai Santorini”.

Mykonos & Santorini

Who doesn’t know the images of white houses with their lovely blue roofs? Santorini is a beloved place for tourists visiting the Greek islands and so is Mykonos. The Cyclade island is immensely popular for a lovely summer vacation.

It is therefore no surprise that Elena Tsagrinou has chosen these two islands to title her latest single. On “Mykonos kai Santorini”, Tsagrinou addresses her lover. As everyone is looking at them, she suggests going away to the sunlit islands, where they can do whatever they want. The islands are the best place to be reborn together, sings the 2021 Eurovision star.

Michalis Hatzigiannis is one of the composers of the song. He famously represented Cyprus at the Eurovision Song Contest 1998 in Birmingham, finishing ninth with “Genesis”. His career properly took off afterwards and he has now once again bagged a couple of MAD VMA nominations. The other composers are Eleana Vrachali (lyrics) and Konstantinos Pantzis (music).
