ESCXTRA: Live from Kyiv

Day 6: Jana Burčeska completes her second rehearsal for FYR Macedonia – PREDICTION & REVIEW

ESCXTRA are live from Kyiv for day six of rehearsals ahead of the 2017 Eurovision Song Contest! Like yesterday, we can bring you live audio from the press centre television screens that show each rehearsal. The countries rehearsing today, in chronological order, are Armenia, Slovenia, Latvia, Serbia, Austria, F.Y.R. Macedonia, Malta, Romania, Ukraine, Italy, Spain, Germany, United Kingdom and France. Furthermore, read our handy guide for a more detailed look at this contest’s rehearsal schedule.

In addition, for our immediate reactions to every single rehearsal, you can follow our live stream from the press centre at the International Exhibition Center by visiting our YouTube channel. Also, you will also be able to listen live to each second rehearsal as it happens and give us your opinions in our live chat.

The next artist to take to the stage for her second rehearsal is Jana Burčeska from FYR Macedonia. We have just watched their first run through of Dance Alone live from Kyiv and here is our reaction.

Staging overview

Jana has a skyline on her LED backdrop with three video billboards within that to give it a city life at night feel. She’s really enjoying herself on stage and connecting with cameras very well although a couple of camera shots towards the end may need a little tweak. Her vocals are also considerably improved. Jana is wearing a short black and glittery dress with tassels allowing Jana the freedom to dance alone on stage.

Qualification prospects

I think Jana’s qualification prospects have improved considerably today, it feels like this is really coming together. Comparing it to Serbia, it does have a bit more personality and the song is stronger in my personal opinion. I think it is still quite borderline but it could now sneak through – 50% chance.

Watch the rehearsal!

We will bring you video footage from this second rehearsal as soon as we have it!

Stay tuned for our reaction to Claudia Faniello as she rehearses Breathlessly next for Malta. Meanwhile, remember to tune in to our live stream from the press centre. There you can ask us your questions and tune in to some live stream interviews with special guests!

Ryan Cobb

My first memory of watching the Eurovision Song Contest was back in 2001 and, over the years, my passion and enthusiasm for the contest has very much turned into an obsession. I adore music and I love geography, so this contest is a natural fit for me. If la la loving Eurovision was a crime, I'd certainly be a criminal!
