ESCXTRA: Live from Kyiv

Day 6: Nathan Trent completes his second rehearsal for Austria – PREDICTION & REVIEW

ESCXTRA are live from Kyiv for day six of rehearsals ahead of the 2017 Eurovision Song Contest! Like yesterday, we can bring you live audio from the press centre television screens that show each rehearsal. The countries rehearsing today, in chronological order, are Armenia, Slovenia, Latvia, Serbia, Austria, F.Y.R. Macedonia, Malta, Romania, Ukraine, Italy, Spain, Germany, United Kingdom and France. Furthermore, read our handy guide for a more detailed look at this contest’s rehearsal schedule.

In addition, for our immediate reactions to every single rehearsal, you can follow our live stream from the press centre at the International Exhibition Center by visiting our YouTube channel. Also, you will also be able to listen live to each second rehearsal as it happens and give us your opinions in our live chat.

The next artist to take to the stage for his second rehearsal is Nathan Trent from Austria. We have just watched his first run through of Running On Air live from Kyiv and here is our reaction.

Staging overview

Austria are continuing with their fairytale sky theme with Nathan beginning his performance on a moon prop. Nathan’s ultimate advantage is his fantastic ability to connect with the cameras. He also seems to be taking his vocals to a new level here, putting in 100% into hitting even harder notes. Nathan is still dressed all in white, giving somewhat of an angelic quality.

Qualification prospects

The running order really plays against Nathan here, but I think viewers will fall in love with his charm and beautiful performance. I’m giving this a 65% chance of qualifying, and could really surprise with a good running order slot in the final.

Watch the rehearsal!

We will bring you video footage from this second rehearsal as soon as we have it!

Stay tuned for our reaction to Jana Burčeska as she rehearses Dance Alone next for F.Y.R Macedonia. Meanwhile, remember to tune in to our live stream from the press centre. There you can ask us your questions and tune in to some live stream interviews with special guests!

Ryan Cobb

My first memory of watching the Eurovision Song Contest was back in 2001 and, over the years, my passion and enthusiasm for the contest has very much turned into an obsession. I adore music and I love geography, so this contest is a natural fit for me. If la la loving Eurovision was a crime, I'd certainly be a criminal!
