ESCXTRA: Live from Kyiv

Day 7: Koit Toome and Laura complete second rehearsal for Estonia – PREDICTION & REVIEW

ESCXTRA are live from Kyiv for day six of rehearsals ahead of the 2017 Eurovision Song Contest! As every country has now rehearsed for the first time, there is no more need to mute our live stream. The countries that are completing their second rehearsals today are all in Semifinal 2. They are, in chronological order: the Netherlands, Hungary, Denmark, Ireland, San Marino, Croatia, Norway, Switzerland, Belarus, Bulgaria, Lithuania, Estonia, Israel. Furthermore, read our handy guide for a more detailed look at this contest’s rehearsal schedule.

In addition, for our immediate reactions to every single rehearsal, you can follow our live stream from the press centre at the International Exhibition Center by visiting our YouTube channel. Also, you will also be able to listen live to each second rehearsal as it happens and give us your opinions in our live chat.

The next artist to take to the stage for their second rehearsal is Koit Toome and Laura from Estonia. We have just watched their first run through of Verona live from Kyiv and here is our reaction.

Staging overview

There’s been a few minor changes to the Estonian rehearsal, camera angles have been tightened up and Koit in particular is taking new opportunities to interact with the camera. Their vocals are both solo, Laura chose to take an easier note before the final chorus but didn’t sound worse for it. Overall, there is still clever use of the LED floor and backdrop to create a similar yet enhanced version of their Eesti Laul performance.

Qualification prospects

This is one of the most professional, visually interesting and accessible entries of this contest and should qualify fairly easily thanks to its running order slot. Televoters will probably prefer this to jurors but I give this a 75% chance of qualifying.

Watch the rehearsal!

We will bring you video footage from this second rehearsal as soon as we have it!

Stay tuned for our reaction to Imri Ziv as he rehearses I Feel Alive next for Belarus. Meanwhile, remember to tune in to our live stream from the press centre. There you can ask us your questions and tune in to some live stream interviews with special guests!

Ryan Cobb

My first memory of watching the Eurovision Song Contest was back in 2001 and, over the years, my passion and enthusiasm for the contest has very much turned into an obsession. I adore music and I love geography, so this contest is a natural fit for me. If la la loving Eurovision was a crime, I'd certainly be a criminal!
