In a thrilling 2-hour show, the first 18 semi-finalists competed in the first semi-final of this year’s Eurovision Song Contest, in a bid to earn your votes. It’s now all over, and we know our first 10 finalists!

I’m a little sad for Latvia….but oh my GOD, I am SO relieved for Belgium! Being revealed last and with all the worry from this last week. I was freaking out so badly whilst waiting for her! Greece should NOT have gone through with that awful note in the chorus…

I said last night that the getting six qualifiers out of the first half was a tough one and that it could easily cost Finland its deserved spot in the final. I’m sad to see it actually did. It’s not a bad song at all, but of looking at the other five from the first half, it was the weakest one. Pretty expected for all the rest, chuffed for Portugal. Just a bit disappointed for Czech Republic and Iceland, who actually did deliver.

Eurovision proving a surprise every year. I am shocked Finland didn’t make it through, she gave a really powerful performance. Bummed about Iceland too

I was really surprised about Greece and Poland qualifying, and not exactly in a positive way to be honest. My heart is breaking a little because Finland didn’t make it. Also Iceland and Czech Republic would have deserved to got to the final, in my opinion. I’m extremely happy for Portugal, though.

Pffff…I would never guess that Armenia will pass. Iceland deserved it so much more!!!
Were Our Predictions Accurate?
Earlier today, we published our predictions for who will qualify. But how accurate were we?
We predicted that Armenia, Australia, Azerbaijan, Belgium, Cyprus, Finland, Greece, Moldova, Portugal, and Sweden would qualify.
This means that we correctly predicted 9/10 of the qualifiers! Most accurate from our team were Luke, Nick, Ryan, Sara, Sagheer, and Yassia who correctly predicted 9 of the qualifiers, whereas Brent, Hlynur, Sophie, and Wivian were the least accurate, guessing only 7 of the qualifiers.
