Olivia Newton-John has decided to postpone all her concerts for the upcoming time. She has done so after she had been diagnosed with breast cancer earlier this month. The UK’s 1974 Eurovision entrant was due to tour in North America this month.
Back pain
Newton-John first cancelled some of her concerts due to back pain. Doctors have now confirmed to her that those pains were caused by the spreading of the cancer to her sacrum.
In the statement made by her management, Olivia Newton-John says she’ll be fighting the cancer through both natural therapies as well as photon radiation therapy. The former Eurovision entrant and Grease star has said she expects to be back on stage later this year. Her team are currently also trying to reschedule all currently postponed concert dates in the United States and Canada.
Olivia Newton-John Cancer and Wellness Centre
It is not Newton-John’s first time of battling breast cancer. The new diagnosis comes 25 years after the first diagnosis of breast cancer and recovering from it. After that first diagnosis, Newton-John became an advocate to raise awareness for healthcare issues.
In that, she is one of the founders of the Olivia Newton-John Cancer and Wellness Centre in Melbourne, Australia, where she is also receiving treatment at the moment.
We’d like to wish Olivia Newton-John a speedy recovery in these tough times.
