Tbilisi 2017

Russia are the first country to reveal their entry for Junior Eurovision 2017!

While Eurovision 2017 may have reached its conclusion just a couple of weeks ago, we are heading full speed into the Junior Eurovision 2017 national final season. Tonight, Russia hosted their national final to select their entry for Tbilisi. Taking place at the Artek International Children Centre in Crimea, the show was recorded ahead of its official airing on television tomorrow.

It’s victory for Polina!

Various sources have confirmed that Polina Bogusevich has taken victory with her song Krelya. The song, meaning Wings, was leading the online voting ahead of the voting closing earlier today. The online voting was responsible for 50% of the final result, while jurors decided the other 50%. It seems that the jury agreed with the internet voters to crown Polina as the winner! You can listen to the studio version of Krelya below.

The contest’s biggest country have finished in the top 10 on all 12 occasions they have participated. The Tolmachevy Twins took Russia’s only victory during the country’s second participation in the contest in 2006. Last year, The Water of Life Project placed an impressive 4th in Valletta.

My first memory of watching the Eurovision Song Contest was back in 2001 and, over the years, my passion and enthusiasm for the contest has very much turned into an obsession. I adore music and I love geography, so this contest is a natural fit for me. If la la loving Eurovision was a crime, I'd certainly be a criminal!
