Towards the end of last year, we followed Saara Aalto’s remarkable journey on The X Factor UK. Despite appearing in the bottom three on three separate occasions, the former UMK runner-up eventually won over the British public. After winning the vote in both the quarter-final and the semi-final, Saara went on to finish in second place in the final. She subsequently signed record deals with Sony Music UK and Sony Music Finland.
From X Factor contestant to X Factor judge!
Today, Saara has announced that she is going to become one of the four judges on the Finnish version of The X Factor. So far, only one series of X Factor Finland has been aired and this took place back in 2010. However, Saara’s appearance on the British version of the show last year received massive interest from the Finnish public. Towards the end of the series, the show aired live on Finnish TV. Therefore, MTV3 in Finland has embraced this popularity to relaunch their own version of the show.
“I know what it takes to go through a competition like this”
Saara is overwhelmed with this opportunity, expressing her delight on her Facebook page:
The show will air in spring 2018
Saara is being joined on the judging panel by Michael Monroe, Mikael Gabriel and Suvi Teräsniska. The deadline for artists to apply for the show is July 31st, with auditions taking place in September. The show will air on MTV3 in Finland in spring 2018.
