Friday is the home of new music releases around the world. We’ve taken the time to compile a list of songs that you must listen to before next Friday comes around! Featuring Eurovision related stars, you can find all the latest from your favourites here alongside a couple of new releases from Eurovision nations which we think you should check out. So, what are you waiting for? Dive on into ESCXTRA’s New Music Friday!
The big release – “Dansa i neon” by Ace Wilder
Making her Swedish-language début, three-time Melodifestivalen finalist Ace Wilder has today released her cover of a classic song. “Dansa i neon”, originally a Melodifestivalen 1987 entry performed by Lena Philipsson, has been covered multiple times by Swedish artists. Lena Philipsson herself, the 2004 winner of Melodifestivalen, has released an English version of the song alongside metal band Dead by April in 2011.

“Anywhere You Go” by Boris René
Two-time Melodifestivalen finalist, Boris René, is back this week with his new single “Anywhere You Go”. A change from his usual Melodifestivalen sound, this song feels very summery and appropriate for the time of year! If you like Boris usually, you will like this.
“Gimme Gimme” by Inna
In 2008, Romanian singer Inna submitted two entries for the Romanian selection process for Eurovision but ultimately neither were selected. TVR approached Inna directly in 2012 to represent the nation, but scheduling issues meant that it was not possible on that occasion. Today, her new release “Gimme Gimme” is exactly what you’d expect from the Romanian pop star in 2017!
Other musical highlights this week from around the Eurovision nations
It’s been a great week for musicians from pre-qualified finalists! Firstly, the United Kingdom’s George Ezra made his comeback today with a new release entitled “Don’t Matter Now”. London-based DJ and producer, Jax Jones, has released a brand new single with US singer Demi Lovato and upcoming London rap star Stefflon Don, who recently featured on the BBC’s Sound of 2017 shortlist. “Instruction” mixes a dancehall-inspired beat with Lovato’s vocal line and Don’s intelligent quick-fire one-liners and is our song of the week.
In France, popular DJ Martin Solveig is having a good few months. Hot off the heels of his hit “Places” with Ina Wroldsen, he’s released a brand new dance track with Finnish pop artist ALMA (…No, not the one which represented France this year at Eurovision!) called “All Stars”.
