In the last few minutes, ESCPORTUGAL has revealed that the host city for the 2018 Eurovision Song Contest is expected to be announced tomorrow. In addition, the host venue and the dates for the contest will also be revealed. An RTP source contacted the popular Portuguese website with the news earlier today.
Expected announcement tomorrow
ESCPORTUGAL’s full statement reads as follows (translated from Portuguese):
RTP and EBU are preparing for the official announcement of the date of the Eurovision Song Contest 2018 tomorrow, July 25th. Also, the host city and arena of the event should be announced tomorrow. A source of RTP contacted by ESCPORTUGAL has revealed that everything is ready for the official announcement. The announcement will be published on the websites of the Portuguese public station RTP (rtp.pt) and the Eurovision Song Contest (eurovision.tv).
Therefore, tomorrow we should be expecting this long-awaited announcement! Several Portuguese cities are expected to be in the running, with Lisbon’s MEO Arena being the widely-predicted favourite. Other front-running cities include Braga, Gondomar and Santa Maria da Feira.
