ABBA won the Eurovision Song Contest 1974 for Sweden with their song, Waterloo, which later became a worldwide sensation. After Eurovision, ABBA only built upon their success and are now a household name across the globe, despite splitting up in 1982. One member of the band, Benny Andersson, has revealed that he will release a solo album featuring both his own music and ABBA music!
Benny is now 70 years old, but he’s still not too old to blow us away! His new solo album will contain 22 tracks, including music from ABBA, played on piano. ABBA themselves talked about the new album on their official Facebook page!

The album will be called “Benny Andersson – Piano”, and will be released by the German record label Deutsche Grammophon in autumn.
Which songs will appear on the album?
According to Swedish newspaper Expressen, the album will include:
- Thank You for the Music
- Flickornas Rum (The Girl’s Room)
- Music from Benny’s musical, Chess
- Music from Benny and Björn Ulvaeus’ musical, Kristina från Duvemåla (Kristina from Duvemåla)
We also hope to see some other ABBA hits in the album, such as Dancing Queen, Super Trouper, and The Winner Takes It All!
