We have three birthday girls today! They are all from Eastern Europe (sort of). They all participated in Eurovision during the 2000s. They’re all born in the 80s. And they all probably hoped for better results than they achieved!
Dalal Midhat-Talakić, 36
Dalal represented Bosnia and Herzegovina in the 2016 Eurovision in Stockholm. She was not on her own; on stage with her were Deen, Ana Rucner and Jala. Together they performed the song “Ljubav je“, but just failed to qualify for the grand final. They finished in 11th place in their semi-final. Outside of Eurovision Dalal is part of the R&B duo Erato.
Stephanie Topalian, 30
Stephanie is an American singer of Armenian decent. She was part of the 2015 Armenian Eurovision project Genealogy. They performed the song “Face the Shadow. They qualified for the final, where they finished 16th. Stephanie is a very successful singer and actress in Japan.
Nina Radojcic, 28
Nina represented Serbia in the 2011 Eurovision in Dusseldorf, with the song “Caroban”. She qualified from her semi-final in 8th place, and in the grand final she finished 14th. In her “civilian life” Nina has studied pharmacy and is currently pursuing her PhD in immunopharmacology in Australia.
All of us here at escXtra wish Dalal, Stephanie and Nina the most wonderful of birthdays!
