Today, 2013 Eurovision winner Emmelie de Forest has revealed a fact most of us will have never known. Indeed, even Wikipedia doesn’t know this at the time of writing… at least until someone changes it after reading this! Yes, Emmelie’s birth name is actually Emelie. Now, the Danish star is wondering whether to revert back to her birth name in an enlightening Facebook post.

Emmelie has revealed on Facebook an image of her passport, which reveals that her birth name is, in fact, Emelie Charlotte-Victoria de Forest. Due to this spelling of Emelie being uncommon in Denmark, Emmelie changed her name to its current spelling as a teenager to help fellow Danes pronounce her name correctly. Emmelie’s PledgeMusic campaign is a massive success!
In addition, Emmelie has been running a PledgeMusic campaign to fund her brand new EP. A few days ago, Emmelie achieved her target and plans for her EP release later this year are full steam ahead!
