LISTEN: Molly Sandén turns to Swedish for new single “Rygg mot rygg”

Molly Sandén is back! The three-time Melodifestivalen finalist has released her brand new single today, titled Rygg mot rygg which translates as Back to Back. In recent years, Molly has been more known for releasing English-language singles including the critically acclaimed Freak in August 2014. Therefore, her return to Swedish may be a surprise for some!

Molly’s first taste of Eurovision came in 2006 as she represented Sweden in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest. She finished in 3rd place with Det finaste någon kan få, which still remains Sweden’s best finish at the contest. Furthermore, Molly has participated in Melodifestivalen on three separate occasions with Så vill stjärnornaWhy Am I Crying and Youniverse in 2009, 2012 and 2016 respectively. On all three occasions, Molly reached the final, with her fifth place in 2012 being her highest finish. Perhaps it’ll be fourth time lucky in the future for the Swedish pop princess?

My first memory of watching the Eurovision Song Contest was back in 2001 and, over the years, my passion and enthusiasm for the contest has very much turned into an obsession. I adore music and I love geography, so this contest is a natural fit for me. If la la loving Eurovision was a crime, I'd certainly be a criminal!
