Ukraine confirms Eurovision 2018 participation

Ukraine confirms their Eurovision 2018 participation after hosting the 2017 edition of the contest in Kiev.
Ever since their first participation in 2003, Ukraine’s Eurovision game is going strong backed up by amazing stage shows and two wins under their belt.
However, futher information regarding the format of their 2018 national selection process is yet to be disclosed.

Broadcasters – share fair and square

In a three year agreement UA:PBC and STB have agreed to arrange the broadcast of the contest and organize the national selection.
STB is responsible for organizing and producing Ukraine’s quest for their Eurovision representative while both STB and UA:PBC broadcast the national selection. This arrangement benefits UA:PBC financially by being responsible for only paying the participation fee and expenses connected to the contest.

Ukraine at Eurovision

Despite a rather disappointing debut in 2003, Ukraine came back strong the following year winning the contest in 2004 with Ruslana’s “Wild Dances”. Their second win came exactly 12 years later in 2016 with Jamala’s “1944”.
On a less successful note, their worst scoring entry is last year’s host entry “Time” by O Torvald. They finished 24th out of 26 competing countries.
