Earlier this week two times Eurovision participant and winner of the 2010 Contest, Lena collaborated with the popular German hip-hop group GENETIKK. The song is entitled “Lang lebe die Gang” (Long Live the Gang)
The song which will be on the soundtrack for the Netflix series ‘Marvel’s the Defenders’, showcases a different side to Lena’s past music. From her Eurovision entries and music that has followed, her style has focused mainly on pop music. Furthermore, Lena is singing in German and provides a subtle balance to the rap within the song.
Lena herself talks about the song where she says:
“The different characters in the Defenders don’t really work out together, and that’s why it was a good idea to bring two different pieces of music together that usually would not fit”.
Lena at Eurovision
Lena first participated at the Eurovision Song Contest, back in 2010. Her entry Satellite won with a total of 246 points, bringing Germany their second victory after Nicole won in 1982.
The following year, she went on to represent her country in Dusseldorf. Her entry ‘Taken by a Stranger’ achieved a very respectable 10th place with 107 points.
