GPB has revealed that Grigol Kipshidze will represent Georgia in the 2017 Junior Eurovision Song Contest. Indeed, it’s a special honour for Grigol as he will be the first artist to represent Georgia in a Eurovision on home soil. The decision was made by a five-person professional jury.
Chosen by a five-person jury
Back in July, GPB launched an open call for artists to submit their applications. Then, a chosen few were shortlisted and took part in a live audition process in front of a five-person jury. As we revealed yesterday, the jurors responsible for selecting the Georgian representative were as follows:
- Davit Evgenidze (Musician)
- Eliso Shengelia (Music Editor)
- Giorgi Asanishvili (Sound Director)
- Maia Baratashvili (Singer)
- Zaza Shengelia (Producer)
Grigol is heading to the Olympic Palace!
Therefore, we now know that Grigol was the jury favourite! As a result, he will represent Georgia in the 2017 Junior Eurovision Song Contest which will take place in Tbilisi’s Olympic Palace on November 26th. Furthermore, GPB has revealed that the hosts of the contest will be revealed in the coming days.
