It’s a busy day in the Junior Eurovision world today! Now, Macedonia has revealed that Mina Blažev will represent her country at the 2017 Junior Eurovision Song Contest. The news was revealed just a few minutes ago on junioreurovision.tv!
A round of auditions was held
MKRTV held a round of auditions “earlier this month” in order to find the perfect artist to send to Tbilisi. Following the auditions, the Macedonian broadcaster chose 14-year-old Mina Blažev to represent them at this year’s Junior Eurovision! Her song will be unveiled “in the coming weeks”. You can see a video of Mina performing below.
Will it be lucky 13 for Macedonia?
Overall, Macedonia’s best result at the contest came in 2007 and 2008 with Rosica Kulakova & Dimitar Stojmenovski and Bobi Andonov respectively finishing in 5th place. Last year, MKRTV chose Martija Stanojković to represent them in Valletta. Indeed, she immediately became a fan favourite with her tropical-pop anthem Love Will Lead Our Way and eventually finished in 12th place. Remarkably, it was Macedonia’s sixth 12th place finish in 12 Junior Eurovision appearances!
