An Xtra Happy Birthday; September 13th

Yesterday there were four Eurostar birthdays, however today we have three birthday girls. One thing that they have in common is that they all sang in their native language… well one mixed it with english. It´s  Soraya, Leonor Andrade and Olta Boka birthday!

Soraya Arnelas Rubiales , 35

She is better known by her stage name Soraya. She performed in Moscow in 2009 representing Spain.  The song is called “La Noche Es Para Mi ( The Night Is For Me)” and was performed with lot of dancers and full of energy. But failed to succeed for it ended in second last place with 23 points. To add a little extra, the song was first written in 2007, then in Greek, and was offered to Helena Paparizou.

Olta Boka,  26

After Olta won the Albanian national selection, Festivali i Këngës, she went to Eurovisio in Belgrade 2009. At the time she was only 17 years. The name of the song is “Zemrën e lamë peng”. Boka´s good performance at the second final won her a place at the Final. Albania got 55 points thus landing 17th place out of 25.

Leonor Andrade, 23

Leonor performed for Portugal in Vienna in 2015. We spoke her there, here is the link to the interview. The song is called “Há um mar que nos separa” and is sweet song. Never the less the song got the same fate as the previous Portugal´s entries and failed to qualify to the final.
