In 2014, Australia took a significant step to becoming an official competing Eurovision nation. Indeed, DR granted the Aussies their very own interval act to show Europe exactly why they love Eurovision. The star of the interval act was popstar Jessica Mauboy, who performed a brand new song written for the show: Sea of Flags. Now, with Australia a regular competing nation, Jessica has revealed her desire to return to the competition!
Australia to return in 2018
It was recently revealed that Australia would participate in the Eurovision Song Contest for the fourth time competitively. Naturally, Australian media has already gone into overdrive speculating on who will follow in Isaiah’s footsteps. Speaking to the Daily Telegraph, Jessica Mauboy revealed that she would love to perform on the Eurovision stage again for Australia.

The Secret Daughter
Jessica is still one of Australia’s most popular stars with recent single Fallin’ being certified platinum by the Australian music industry. The song is taken from Jessica’s upcoming soundtrack album The Secret Daughter: Season Two. The album release coincides with the second season of The Secret Daughter airing on Australian TV screens. Jessica stars in the drama as country pub singer Billie Carter. Indeed, the soundtrack of the first season, released last year, gave the multi-talented star her first Australian #1 album!
As a result, her fourth studio album has been on hold for a couple of years now due to the incredible success of The Secret Daughter. Therefore, perhaps Eurovision next year could be the perfect platform to launch the long-awaited album?
