Nine-year-old Gianluca Cilia won the ticket to represent Malta at the 2017 Junior Eurovision Song Contest back in July, beating off competition from nine other participants. At the national final, he performed a rendition of the Italian ballad ‘”Perdere l’amore” which proved a hit with televoters. Shortly after his win, preparations began on the Maltese entry.
Earlier this evening, the official Maltese entry was presented for the first time via the Official Junior Eurovision YouTube account. The song has a strong latin flavour and definitely prolongs the sound of summer for a little while longer!
Malta is participating in the contest for the 13th time having already won the competition on two occasions, in 2013 & 2015. Could ‘Dawra Tond’ give the country their third win? Let us know your thoughts in the comments!
