This evening, TVP hosted Krajowe Eliminacje do Konkursu Eurowizja Junior, the Polish national selection for the 2017 Junior Eurovision Song Contest. After ten talented young acts took to the stage, the winner was chosen. Alicja Rega will represent Poland in Tbilisi with the song Mój dom (My House)!
Ten acts, one winner!
A combination of televoting and a professional jury, weighted at 50% each, determined the winner of the competition. The jury consisted of Artur Orzech, Natalia Szroeder and Sylwia Lipka. Once the votes were combined, it was Alicja that came out on top. The running order of tonight’s final was as follows:
- ASMki – Pod prąd
- Monika Urbanowicz – Płomień miłości
- Maya & Marcel – Tacy sami
- WAMWAY – Jesteś mym marzeniem
- Tomek Bao – Pochodnie
- Dominika Ptak – Anioły
- Natalia Wawrzyńczyk – Nie jesteś sam
- Staś Kukulski – To co żyje w nas
- Alicja Rega – Mój dom (1st place)
- Ula Kowalska – Jestem jaka jestem
A successful return to JESC last year
Alicja will follow in the footsteps of Olivia Wieczorek who won the same competition this time last year. As a result, she went on to represent Poland in Valletta with her song Nie Zapomnij. Olivia scored Poland’s best Junior Eurovision in their history, finishing in 11th place with 60 points. Poland finished 16th and 17th in their other two Junior Eurovision appearances, back in 2003 and 2004 respectively.
