Albania’s Junior Fest 2017 will now take place on October 14th

On September 30th, the Albanian Junior Eurovision national selection process, Junior Fest 2017, was due to take place at the Palace of Congresses in Tirana. However, it was revealed that the competition had been delayed. Nevertheless, it has been confirmed that Junior Fest 2017 will now be held on October 14th.

Two more weeks to wait

The date change was confirmed by RTSH to ESC+Plus yesterday. Albania’s head of delegation, Kleart Duraj, explains the situation:

“The RTSH website is not updated, the selection is on October 14th”

Sixteen entries to compete

Last month, RTSH revealed the sixteen entries that would be competing in the contest. For full details of every song, performer and songwriter, have a read of our article here.
The winner will follow in the footsteps of Klesta Qehaja who represented Albania in Valletta last year with the dramatic ballad Besoj. Klesta finished in 13th place with 38 points! Albania’s best Junior Eurovision finish came a year earlier. In Sofia, Mishela Rapo finished in an impressive fifth place with the irresistibly catchy Dambaje.

My first memory of watching the Eurovision Song Contest was back in 2001 and, over the years, my passion and enthusiasm for the contest has very much turned into an obsession. I adore music and I love geography, so this contest is a natural fit for me. If la la loving Eurovision was a crime, I'd certainly be a criminal!
