RÚV clarifies language rule for Eurovision

Icelandic broadcaster RÚV has confirmed that the eventual winner of it’s final Söngvakeppnin must perform the song in the same language at Eurovision as it does in the final show.
The same rule applied last year also, however the eventual winner Pollapönk sneakily hedged their bets by singing a bilingual version in Icelandic/English in the Söngvakeppnin final, and went on to sing the song fully in English in Copenhagen.
The Söngvakeppnin final will take place this Saturday 14th February where seven songs will compete to represent Iceland at the Eurovision Song Contest 2015 in Vienna, Austria, with the winner chosen by a combination of 50% televote and 50% jury vote. The show will be broadcast from 20:40 CET on RÚV, or online here.
