Lizi Japaridze & Helen Kalandadze to host Junior Eurovision

Georgia have chosen Lizi Japaridze and Helen Kalandadze to host this year’s Junior Eurovision Song Contest in Tbilisi.
Lizi represented Georgia in Junior Eurovision in 2014, whilst Helen previously participated in the Eurovision Song Contest in 2010 as a backing singer. With Lizi, this would be the first time someone under 16 has hosted the Junior Eurovision Song Contest.

Lizi Japaridze (also known as ‘Lizi Pop’)

Lizi Japaridze is 13 years old and was born in Tbilisi. She represented Georgia in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest with the song Happy Day. Lizi’s video for the song has over ten million views, resulting in the most viewed Junior Eurovision video on the official channel. She speaks fluent Georgian, English, Russian and French so is ideal for hosting a Eurovision event!

Helen Kalandadze

Helen Kalandadze participated in the reality TV show ‘Star Academy’ in 2009. She also participated in ‘Your Face Sounds Familiar’ in 2013, in which she won the competition. Helen in 2010 participated at Eurovision as a backing singer for Georgian singer Sofia Nijaradze with her song Shine.
