Mere moments ago the Australian Junior Eurovision 2017 song as performed by Isabella Clarke was made public! It’s time to Speak Up!
An empowerment anthem
The song is another empowerment anthem from the Australian team. Boy, do I love a song that is age appropriate! Here we have another fantastic example of a young woman delivering a message about being strong and being heard and I for one couldn’t be happier! It is clear Australia, as always, is a contender and takes all forms of Eurovision very seriously!
Inspirational and appropriate
I think my favourite lyric is “[I’ll] tell you, What’s inside me, what defines me”. I don’t know about you, but this kind of lyric inspires me even now. Indeed, I can’t imagine what it would have done for me as a teenager! Regardless it’s much more appropriate than singing about heartbreak or love (concepts I still think most adults can barely get their own heads around!) Check out the video below!
Capturing the nature of the song
The film clip is a fun, high energy single shot video that really captures the upbeat nature of the song! Filmed at a local high school, it not only is a glimpse of what Australian high schools are like but is familiar territory for those who the Junior competition is aimed at.
Guess what? Lucky ESCXTRA viewers, we have some exclusive behind the scenes footage for you that was taken on the day of the shoot! Check it out below!
The song is well sung, upbeat and I think it will not only do well but undoubtedly do Australia proud (again!). And who can be disappointed with that key change? I sure know I’m ready to Speak Up in Tbilisi!
