Montenegro: National final to be held in February!

RTCG has announced that a national final will be used to select the 2018 representative for Montenegro.
Submissions for interested artists and songwriters to apply will be open from 1st November. A special jury will then choose the best five to proceed to Montevizija. The winner will be selected by televote alone. Montevizija was last used in 2007 and 2008 and ever since Montenegro have opted for internal selections. Therefore, 2018 will be the first time in a decade that the Montenegrin public get to pick their entry! The show will be held in February and RTCG, the national broadcaster, will reveal more details soon.

Montenegro at Eurovision

The Balkan nation debuted in 2007 with Stevan Faddy and has participated on nine occasions. Nevertheless, Montenegro has only managed to reach the final twice – in 2014 and 2015. Knez came 13th in 2015 and therefore brought Montenegro their best result ever. Will their 2018 representative be able to achieve an even better result?

Slavko Kalezić represented the Balkan nation in Kyiv this year, however he failed to reach the final. He came 16th, despite a very memorable performance. He is now appearing on The X Factor UK.
