David Lindgren to host Melodifestivalen 2018?

This week Aftonbladet, a big Swedish newspaper, broke the news, that David Lindgren will host Melodifestivalen again in 2018! David already hosted the competition together with Clara Henry and Hasse Andersson this year. He already took part three times in the Swedish pre-selection with a 4th place in 2012 being his best result to date.
Moreover, the newspaper wrote, that there was a second candidate to host the show with David Lindgren, but was stopped to receive the contract by SVT, as this person doesn’t fit into the popular Swedish TV show. Even though, this person was the favorite of the producer Christer Björkman.
David would be the third person to host the pre-selection two years in a row after Kristian Luuk (2007 and 2008) and Gina Dirawi (2012 and 2013).
When David first entered the stage of Melodifestivalen in 2012 he came 4th with his entry “Shout It Out”. One year later he returned with his song “Skyline” and came 8th. In 2016 he placed 11th with his entry “We Are Your Tomorrow”. Every time he made it directly through to the final.
