National selection for 2018

The German entry will be selected with a combination of public voting, a 100-member European panel and a jury of international experts. Thomas Schreiber expects more than 1.000 possible artists who will be reduced to 200 before these will be seen by the European panel. The NDR will produce short films of these 200 candidates who will be used for the ranking of the panel. The final 20 will work together with the NDR on potential songs for the national final. The first time, that the international jury will be part of the selection process is when it’s about to select the Top 5 out of the best 20 for the live shows. Moreover, even Ralph Siegel announced to send in a song for the national selection.
