According to INFE Greece, the Greek broadcaster ERT has narrowed down the 20 submitted entries, sent from record companies across the country, to five finalists. These finalists will compete in the Greek national final, where they will hope to win the right of representing Greece in the Eurovision Song Contest 2018.
The 5 finalists for the Greek national final
The following five acts are reported to have been picked by ERT’s jury:
Tony Vlachos with the song “Baila Jazz” – Submitted by record company Spider Music
Areti Ketime with the song “Don’t Forget the Sun” by Spicy Music
Gianna Terzi with the song “To Oniro mou” (“My Dream”) by Panik Records
The folkloric ethno group Horostalites with the song “Apo tin Thraki os tin Kriti” (“From Thrace to Crete”) by Spider Music
Duo Fina with “Idio tempo” by Records on Top
Following remaining known submitted acts have been eliminated by the appointed jury and did not go through:

Stero Soul ft. DJ Koncept
Giannis Moraïtis
Dimitris Kiklis
Decho
Giannis Dimitras (Greek representative from 1981)
Christina Salti
Kyriaki Derembey ft. Lava
Vangelis Panatos
Tania Breazou
The special appointed committee by ERT consisted by the following jury members:
Simeonidis Anastasiou (conductor), Petros Dourdoumbakis (song writer, radio producer), Dimitris Kristakis (conductor), Kostas Alexis, Andreas Pilarinos (conductor), Giannis Spyropoulos (anchor) and Pantazis Tsaras (radio producer).
According to previous announcements of ERT, the final selection of the Greek representative for the Eurovision Song Contest 2018 in Lisbon, will be selected solely by televote. However, the date and venue for the Greek national final will be announced at a later stage, as well as the opportunity to listen to the five candidate songs.
