An Xtra Happy Birthday; November 8th!

Yesterday, on November 7th an Icelandic Eurovision performer had their birthday. Today however, on 8th of November, there is a singer from Israel that has his birthday. He participated in 2003, which marks Israel’s 30th year in the history of the Eurovision Song Contest. Lior Narkis is celebrating his birthday today.

Israel selected Lior to compete at Eurovision Song Contest on their behalf in 2003, after winning a four song national final. Therefore, he traveled to Riga, Latvia, where he performed the song “Words for Love”. In addition to Narkis singing on stage, he was joined by five female dancers, that traveled with him all over the stage.

During the course of the song, the dancers transformed the tops of their outfits twice. They started out wearing sleeveless white shirts with ties, then ripping the shits off revealing black tube tops with I LOVE YOU in different languages. Towards the end of the song, they pulled revealed the letters L-O-V-E-U on the tops of their dresses. During the voting in the grand final the song recived 17 points thus ending up in 19th place out of 26 participating countries.
