Bulgaria: BNT to select their Eurovision 2018 representative internally

Bulgaria’s National Broadcaster, BNT, announces that they will select their 2018 Eurovision Song Contest representative internally yet again.
Applying this method has proven to be quite successful for the Balkan country in recent years. As the old saying goes “If It ain’t broke, don’t fix it”.

 What BNT had to say

In addition to being very enthusiastic about the contest and in it to win it, Bulgaria’s delegation does not shy away from interacting with the Eurovision community. The decision to go for an internal selection has been officially confirmed through BNT’s Twitter account.

There is no doubt we are in for another Bulgarian success story yet again.

Bulgaria at Eurovision

Despite only managing to qualify for the grand final on three occassions out of eleven participations, Bulgaria has emerged as a force to be reckon with. Interestingly enough, all of their qualifications have resulted with a top 5 finish.
Debuting in 2005, qualifying with “Water” in 2007, taking a two year break from the contest in 2014 and 2015. Bulgaria’s journey at the Eurovision Song Contest has not been an easy one, but they have certainly managed to effectively re-brand themselves as a powerhouse.
Moreover, Kristian Kostov managed to give Bulgaria its best result in the contest yet. Scoring massively with both the public and the juries, his entry “Beautiful Mess” came 2nd overall with 615 points.
