Malta’s PBS fires CEO John Bundy over “irregularities”

The Maltese broadcaster, PBS, has revealed that the employment of John Bundy, their CEO, has been terminated with immediate effect.
The decision was made in a board meeting, before the decision was made to appoint Charles Dalli as the Acting CEO. He will remain as the Acting CEO until a new CEO is selected.

What did John Bundy do wrong?

PBS have stated that Bundy’s employment was terminated after he failed to follow important procedures according to the company’s procurement policies. This is a breach of the obligations regarding the procedures of a public entity. It has also been said that Bundy “consistently bullied” his management.
Furthermore, PBS have pointed out that the company’s auditors were present at the board meeting. These auditors had been commissioned to investigate alleged irregularities in the awarding of PBS contracts,.
It appears that Bundy may have been meddling in the tender process, although it’s yet to be seen what his motive was!
What do you think of this news? Why do you think Bundy was doing this? Do you think Dalli will be a good Acting CEO?
