Yesterday, GPB held a press conference for the Junior Eurovision to the local press. Among the discussed subjects was the budget spent for the contest. The press conference attendants included Junior Eurovision executive producer, director and presenters.
How much did Junior Eurovision 2017 cost?
During the press conference, the broadcaster revealed that it has allocated more than €2.2 million (7 million lari) for the contest. Tbilisi has been busy the last few weeks with decorations already appearing throughout the city! The decorations include balloon-shaped promotional stands and loads of colorful flags.

Apart from the budget, the press conference also discussed other topics. Specifically, the Opening Ceremony will take place on 20 November with a red carpet walk from the participants. During the ceremony, a draw will also take place to determine the half in which the countries will perform, as well as the first and last positions. The ceremony will be broadcast live on YouTube.
Furthermore, the rehearsals for the contest will commence on 21 November. Aside from rehearsals, GPB has planned several other events including press conferences, interviews and a lot more surprises! The press conference also revealed that the design of the winner’s trophy will remain the same as in previous years.
A week to go!
No more than a week left for the big night of the Junior Eurovision. The contest will take place on 26 November at 16:00 CET. For the first time Georgia will host the event, in the Olympic Palace in Tbilisi. Sixteen countries will be competing in the 15th edition of the contest. Apart from television broadcast, the contest will be available to watch through Junior Eurovision’s YouTube channel.
