It’s always fun when shows like Så Mycket Bättre are filled with Eurovision stars. Last night in Sweden, Eric Saade took on Kikki Danielsson’s Bra Vibrationer. And it’s fair to say that Kikki was quite the fan of the new version!
Bra Vibrationer brought to 2017
The goal of shows like Så Mycket Bättre is to give artists the opportunity to cover the songs of the other participants. They usually give their own spin to those songs. For Eric Saade, that meant he wanted to bring Kikki’s schlager classic to 2017. Unmistakenly still a schlager, the laidback pop instruments made this a rather current effort.
At the end of Eric’s performance, Kikki complimented him on his version. Calling it ‘So wonderful’. Seems she was quite a fan of him! Just like Europe quite liked Kikki in Eurovision 1985, where she finished third with Bra Vibrationer.
During this year’s Så Mycket Bättre, Eric Saade and Kikki Danielsson are of course not the only participants. They’re joined by Icona Pop, Anders Wendin, Sabina Ddumba, Tomas Andersson Wij and another former Melodifestivalen participant. Uno Svenningsson took part twice: In 2007 together with Irma and God Morgon and once more in 2016 with Tommy Nilsson and Patrik Isaksson and Håll Mitt Hjärta Hårt.
Eurovision and Så Mycket Bättre
It’s not the first time we see Eurovision stars on Så Mycket Bättre. In previous seasons in Sweden, we have seen seven former Eurovision acts in eight seasons. It all started in 2010 with Lill-Babs. Following her were Lena Philipsson, Lill Lindfors, Carola, Ola Salo (The Ark), Tommy Nilsson and Jill Johnson.
The Swedish version isn’t the only one of this show. It all started back in 2009, in The Netherlands. Soon, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Belgium, Norway, France, Estonia and Spain followed. Stars like Koit Toome, OG3NE, Willeke Alberti, Lena, Alexander Rybak and Katri Helena all took part.
