Paolo Meneguzzi and Sandra Nurmsalu have a birthday today!
Paolo Meneguzzi, 31
Switzerland selected the Swiss Italian singer Paolo to perform on their behalf at the 2008 Eurovision Song Contest. That is why he stood on stage in Belgrade with the built up rock song “Era Stupendo”. At the second semi final the song got 47 points, which meant it reached 13th place. Therefore it did not qualify to the final that year.
Sandra Nurmsalu, 29
Estonia chose the song “Rändajad” to go to Eurovision in 2009 in Moscow. Which Sandra sang with the band “Urban Symphony”. They performed in the second semi final and where in third place, and therefore secured a spot at the final. The soothing symphony did quite well at the final because they got 129 points which gave them the 6th place. Sandra attempted a return to Eurovision in 2014, when she finished 5th in Eesti Laul with “Kui tuuled pöörduvad”.
