TVR, the broadcaster for Romania, have announced the 60 entries competing in the semi-finals of Eurovision national selection Selecţia Naţională 2018. TVR held auditions over the last few days, with a jury selecting the 60 songs.
Marian Ionescu, Ilinca Bacila, Nicu Patoi, Liliana Stefan and Viorel Gavrilă make up the jury. Illinca is known for her pairing with Alex Florea for the song ‘Yodel It’ which represented Romania at the Kyiv contest earlier this year. Alex is competing here for the 2018 national selection – all eyes will be on her when judging his song!
For the semi-finals, throughout January and February 2018 five shows will take place in various cities across Romania. Twelve songs will compete in each with the jury selecting the final fifteen entries. These will progress to the grand final on 25 February 2018. The public will decide the winner to represent Romania in Lisbon at Eurovision 2018.
