Over the last few days, TVR held auditions with the jury selecting 60 songs, out of 72 to submitted to Selectia Nationala 2018, to advance to the semi-finals. Now you have the chance to actually listen to all of them since TVR unveiled all entries.

TVR have released the songs competing in Selecţia Naţională 2018, the competition which will select the Romanian entry for the Eurovision Song Contest 2018 in Lisbon.

Several familiar names entering Selectia Nationala 2018
What would a national final be without some surprises and known names? Well, Romania makes sure to please us all as there will be something for everyone to enjoy for this year.
One of the most interesting names is Alex Florea who represented Romania earlier this year with “Yodel It” together with Ilinca. His song “Nobody Told Me It Would Hurt” is a ballad written by Jonas Thander and Aidan O’Connor. However, listening to the submitted song the voice is clearly not his own, but supposedly Jonas Thander’s as Alex allegedly submitted the demo sung by his songwriter.
The former Romanian Eurovision representant from 2006 MIHAI will also try his luck again this year with the song “Heaven”. MIHAI was 2nd last year and 5th in 2016 Romanian selections.
Last but not the least, the biggest name in the whole selection is Feli. Feli is one of the most popular singers in Romania today and she will perform the song “Buna de Iubit”, the song was leaked on YouTube a couple of days ago in it’s original version but was taken down shortly afterwards. However, the interesting part here is that the actual version unveiled by TVR now is in Spanish, and not in Romanian like the song that was available on YouTube few days ago. The title has remained in Romanian though.
It will be interesting to see with which version Feli will actually stick with.
As we previously reported, TVR will be using a different format in order to choose the Romanian representant this year by holding 6 shows throughout January and February and a final on February 25th with the 15 qualified entries.
