Montenegro’s National Broadcaster, RTCG, has received 31 submissions from interested artists for the upcoming edition of their national selection, Montevizija 2018.
After the legal check ups of the submitted entries, a panel of renowned music experts will have the task of narrowing them down to only five. Therefore, one of these lucky five acts will get the chance to showcase their talent at Eurovision.
Montevizija 2018 – date and venue
A five-member jury, consisting of three Montenegrins and two foreigners, will choose five songs to compete in Montevizija 2018. The event will take place on February 17th at the Hilton Hotel in the capital of Podgorica.
Montenegro at Eurovision
The beautiful mountainous Balkan country has taken part at the Eurovision Song Contest nine times, managing to qualify for the grand final only twice.
Despite finishing 13th in the grand final, Knez and his entry “Adio” remains Montenegro’s best scoring entry.
However, Montenegro’s Slavko Kalezic will probably go down as one of their most memorable acts at this years contest. Despite the fact that his entry “Space”only finished 16th out of 18 competing songs in the first semi final.
